The 'Citayam All Stars' Gang Holds an Art Action in Jakarta's Old Town

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the garment sector and creative communities filled the Old Town area in an art action titled 'Jerseys for the Minister' held in Jakarta's Old Town on (11/16/2025). This event is organized as a form of appreciation to the government, which is considered successful in curbing the influx of illegal second-hand clothing that has impacted the textile industry and local garment businesses over the past decade.

This action is directed at five government figures who are seen as playing a significant role in the policy to stop illegal second-hand clothing, namely President Prabowo Subianto, Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Minister of SMEs Maman Abdurrahman, Minister of Trade Budi Santoso, and Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung.

A number of musicians and figures involved in this event include: Marjinal, Orkes Trotoar, Buntung Cees, Katababa, as well as the Citayam All Star community featuring Bonge, Jeje, Roy, Kurma, Alpin, Awwa, Della, Badru, Salsa, Jajat.

At the end of the event, the participants conveyed a joint message that stopping illegal second-hand clothing is not just a trade policy, but an important step to protect jobs and the future of the national garment industry.

SME players also expressed their appreciation to all levels of government, including security forces, who have taken action against the smuggling of illegal second-hand goods.

In his statement, the CEO of Sinergi ADV Nusantara, Prama Tirta, emphasized that this policy rekindles hope for garment workers who have survived for the past 10 years amid the onslaught of cheap illegal goods that disrupt the market.

"Today we express our utmost gratitude to the government, especially Mr. Purbaya who has been actively stopping illegal products from entering Indonesia. So we, the confectionery industry, have new hopes, have new light to be more enthusiastic moving forward," he said.

As a reminder, Bonge, Jeje, Roy, and Kurma are known as the 'Citayem Fashion Week' artists from 2022. They appeared trendy like in a fashion show, wearing the latest fashion while hanging out in the Dukuh Atas area, Central Jakarta.
