The Conflict Between Sarwendah and Ruben Onsu Is Further Exposing Their Issues, Lawyer Says Both Are Losing

This statement was made after the court session at the South Jakarta District Court on Thursday (6/8/2026), amidst the legal proceedings regarding child custody that emerged following their divorce in 2024.

"Honestly, we see that everyone is losing right now. Both Bang Minola, myself, Ruben, and Wenda are all losing. Because what we tried to protect has ultimately been exposed," said Chris Sam Siwu.

According to Chris, the exposure of various household issues to the public is detrimental to both parties.

The current conflict is part of the legal process between Sarwendah and Ruben Onsu regarding a child custody lawsuit. Chris believes that the exposure of the case in the public arena is not beneficial for anyone, including the children.

"This is a loss for all of us. We do not want these children to continue watching their parents fight," said Chris.

Chris expressed sadness because the family's privacy, which has been maintained, has finally become public consumption. He is also worried that this situation could affect the psychological well-being of their children.

"We will not respond again outside of today. Because for us, there is no winner or loser," explained the Sarwendah party.

This stance aligns with Chris's request for all parties, including their respective legal representatives, to exercise restraint and help de-escalate the conflict.

The Sarwendah party stresses that statements and responses will be delivered within the applicable court framework.

3. Lawyer's Appeal to Cool Down the Situation

Chris reiterated that lawyers have a responsibility to help cool down the situation, not to exacerbate it. He emphasized that children should not be affected by their parents' disputes.

"We ask that moving forward, we all cool down together; it is also the lawyer's duty to cool things down. We do not want these children to keep watching their parents fight," added Chris.

Although the conflict is still ongoing, Chris hopes that all parties can find the best solution for the sake of the family, especially the children.
