The First Hearing of Venna Melinda's Divorce Lawsuit Against Ferry Irawan Postponed, Here’s the Reason

Kapanlagi.com - The first hearing of the divorce lawsuit filed by Venna Melinda against her husband, Ferry Irawan, was held at the South Jakarta Religious Court on Thursday (14/11/2024). In this hearing, Venna's lawyer, Wijayono Hadi Sukrisno, explained that the session was brief because Ferry Irawan was absent.

"The latest case number is 3714 of 2024. Today is the first hearing to submit the lawsuit administratively. We are filing the lawsuit from Ms. Venna Melinda," Wijayono explained after the hearing.

This hearing agenda is more focused on administrative management and ensuring that the summons has been received by Ferry. Wijayono explained that the court summons was directly received by Ferry Irawan.

"The summons has been properly issued, has been delivered, and was received personally by the concerned party," he continued.

1. Called Back November 28

Although the call has been received, Ferry's absence caused the judge to postpone the hearing for two weeks, specifically on November 28. At the next hearing, Ferry will be called back.

Wijayono stated that if Ferry is absent again, the judge may proceed to the evidence stage without his presence. "If he is still absent on the 28th, usually the panel of judges goes straight to the evidence presentation," he added.

When asked about hopes to expedite the divorce process, Wijayono conveyed that Venna has fully entrusted the matter to the court. "Yesterday we met with Mrs. Venna, she is no longer in communication with Ferry. They have mutually respected each other's privacy," he revealed.

Wijayono also assured that Venna will attend the next hearing as ordered by the panel of judges. "It was previously ordered by the panel that Ms. Venna must be present at the next trial on November 28," he said.

2. No Communication

Regarding the communication between Venna and Ferry, Wijayono emphasized that so far there has been no discussion whatsoever between the two. "There is no communication at all from Venna to Ferry. We are only formally submitting this lawsuit," he said.

He also added that Venna has no intention of causing further polemics or conflicts. "We are only focused on the ongoing legal process. Through this lawsuit, we hope that the process runs smoothly according to the applicable law," Wijayono asserted.
