The Late Epy Kusnandar Insulted by Netizens, Karina Ranau Says Child's Psychology Disturbed

Kapanlagi.com - Karina Ranau can no longer hold back her anger seeing her child, Quentin Stanislavski, having to read the malicious comments from netizens about his late father. She decided to report one social media account to the South Jakarta Police. This legal step was taken to protect her family's mental well-being, which is still in mourning.

Karina considers her visit to the police station not an excessive action. For her, every citizen has the right to protection from verbal attacks that contain elements of harassment and pornography in the digital space.

"Some people might say 'oh, that's overreacting' seeing me come there with my child. But whatever people want to say, because this concerns my child's psychology and also the family. Honestly, I came because I have been quite patient with what netizens have been saying," said Karina Ranau when met in the Kalibata area, South Jakarta, Thursday (14/05/2026).

Karina recounts how difficult it is to sift through the positive and negative comments that come into her personal account. Sometimes she has to upload screenshots of the hurtful comments as one of her ways to express her heartache.

"I filter out which ones are particularly painful, sometimes I screenshot them, I post them. That's my way of slightly healing with the current situation that still feels like we are in mourning. So it's not that easy to forget," said Karina.

2. Powerless to See the Attacks from Netizens

Quentin, who accompanied his mother, admitted feeling powerless seeing the attacks from netizens against his late father. However, he feels fortunate to have a mother who bravely takes decisive action to defend the family.

"I just really want to rush to where Mom is because it doesn't feel right to comment negatively like that," said Quentin.

3. Focus the Police Report on One Person

The police report filed by Karina includes evidence in the form of screenshots of comments from the relevant account. Karina is puzzled as to why someone would harbor such a grudge against her family to the point of using inhumane words.

"The one being reported is just me, just one. If I were to follow all of them, there would be so many, really so many. So I want to focus on just one, this human being. I don't know who that person is, but it seems like they hold a deep grudge against us," said Karina.
