The Story of Mitha The Virgin Caring for Her Mother Until the End of Life, One and a Half Years Without Ever Getting Tired

Behind the music stage, Mitha The Virgin holds a touching story of struggle. For the past one and a half years, she, along with her younger sibling and sister-in-law, has been taking care of their mother, Emmy Sofyana, who has stage 4 lung cancer.

Mitha's mother was diagnosed on December 26, 2023, but her condition improved after receiving chemotherapy treatment. Unfortunately, in the last two months before her passing, the cancer spread to her bones and head.

"I have been taking care of my mom with my younger sibling and sister-in-law for one and a half years, so my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer on December 26, 2023," Mitha recounted when met at TPU Tanah Kusir, Saturday (28/6/2025).

The condition of the mother has worsened. Mitha revealed that her mother cannot walk, and all activities must be done in bed because the cancer has spread throughout her body.

"Finally, everything is done on the bed, using diapers, pooping on the bed, because it has spread to the bones," Mitha continued.

During the treatment process, Mitha never felt tired. However, she admitted she did not expect her mother's condition to become so severe. "No, I didn't have any (premonitions). Because mom would drop, then get better, then drop again, so I felt like I was used to it, but this time it was different when she dropped to the ER," she explained.

Despite being busy as a musician, Mitha always makes time to care for her mother. She even decided that her mother should stay at her sister's house to ensure someone is there to take care of her while she works.
