Kapanlagi.com - In the midst of an ongoing legal process, another side of Vadel Badjideh has emerged during his time in Salemba Prison. This lover of Lolly is said to have undergone a significant transformation, not only physically but also spiritually, which has surprised many parties.
This news was directly revealed by his attorney, Oya Abdul Malik, when met after a hearing at the South Jakarta District Court on Wednesday (23/7/2025). According to him, the changes experienced by his client are very positive.
Oya explained that the conditions inside the prison, which he likened to a pesantren (Islamic boarding school), have shaped Vadel into a more religious person. According to him, in such conditions, one has no choice but to draw closer to the Creator.
"Very much so. When you're in a pesantren, you have no other choice. Who else can you turn to if not to God?" said Oya Abdul Malik.
One of the most notable changes is his ability to memorize the Quran. Oya revealed that Vadel has now memorized the last verse of Surah Al-Baqarah. His ability was even tested directly by the Public Prosecutor (JPU) without looking at the Quran.
"He has memorized the last verse of Al-Baqarah, and it was tested by the JPU without bringing the Quran. He was able to recite it successfully. It's an improvement," he explained proudly.
Not only delving into religion, Vadel also found a new hobby to fill his time, which is playing badminton. Oya even joked that his client could have a new profession after being free, whether as an athlete or a preacher.
"Right now he’s into badminton, who knows he might end up as an athlete or a cleric," he joked.
This positive change is also clearly seen in the physical appearance and mindset of the TikTok dancer. Oya detailed that Vadel now looks much more well-groomed and mature.
"His hair is not long, he looks cleaner, a bit heavier, healthier, better taken care of, and his mindset is more mature," he concluded.
