The loss of a mother figure is certainly a heavy blow for the extended family of Titiek Puspa. However, Petty Tunjungsari stated that her mother had long prepared for her departure.
According to Petty, her mother once expressed her desire to depart in a peaceful condition. Titiek felt that life should be beneficial as long as she was able.
"But indeed she often told me and my sister, Ella, that in Javanese, Gusti Allah Monggo Kulo dipundut," Petty revealed at the funeral home in Pancoran, South Jakarta, Thursday (10/4/2025).
For 65 years as Titiek Puspa's child, Petty admitted to learning a lot from her mother's strong character. She observed that her mother was someone who did not want to burden anyone."So when she felt she could no longer go on, she truly surrendered to the one who decides," she said.
"So if it is said that we, her children, were conditioned, 3 years, 2 years, and a year before, her nieces and nephews already understood," Petty continued.
Petty also explained the family's reasons for keeping her mother's health condition private. According to her, this was done to protect Titiek Puspa's good name."Because indeed we, as a family, have to carry and uphold her good name. So if at that time we were not open, we apologize because it was indeed the hospital's rules," said Petty.
The Titiek family has been trying to take care of her as best as they can since she was first hospitalized. Despite experiencing ups and downs in her condition, the family continues to ensure that their mother's spirits remain high.
Petty also revealed the reason why the family initially did not provide complete information to the public. According to her, the hospital environment is very susceptible to the transmission of other diseases that could endanger her mother."Because she is vulnerable to contamination with other diseases. Once again, thank you for everyone's prayers," said Petty.
Petty also apologized if during her mother's life, she ever said things that might not have been well-received by others. She hopes the public can let go of Titiek's passing."I apologize once again if there were any words from my mother that were inappropriate. Tomorrow, God willing, she will be buried in Tanah Kusir after Friday prayers at block AA1 blad 48," she concluded.
