Kapanlagi.com - Artist Raya Kohandi is facing a different challenge in her acting career this time. Playing the character Aunt Wulandari in the soap opera "In Between Two Loves", Raya has to step out of her comfort zone.
Initially, the character Wulandari is an antagonist full of jealous traits and likes to belittle others. However, as the story progresses, this character undergoes a significant personality change.
"Aunt Wulandari changes into a good woman after she is too jealous for her lines at the beginning," said Raya in a virtual interview on Wednesday (24/7/2024).

This is the first time Raya plays the role of an aunt, which makes it even more challenging for her because she is not sure about the character's age. The transformation of Wulandari into a better character certainly brings its own challenges for Raya.
She admits that she no longer plays the role of a spiteful woman who always belittles and insults others. On the contrary, Raya now has to portray sad emotions and crying scenes, something she rarely did in her previous roles.
"Honestly, Wulan now is sad, it's hard. Sometimes I cry, being sad is a tough challenge," she said.
The 34-year-old artist admits that she often played antagonistic characters that often belittled others' self-esteem. "Because I got so used to being an antagonist, I was labeled as a really bad person, it’s easier to portray and it feels good to be an antagonistic woman," she explained.
The antagonist role has indeed become part of her identity in the acting world. Nevertheless, Raya feels that she must be able to conquer the role of Aunt Wulandari, who is now the protagonist.
The soap opera "In Between Two Loves" airing on SCTV has now entered more than 300 episodes. This makes Raya Kohandi feel happy and proud because every soap opera she stars in always has a long airing lifespan.
"Because I am indeed optimistic that this soap opera is liked by the public. Why? We waited quite a long time for it to air," concluded Raya Kohandi.
In addition to Raya Kohandi, the soap opera "In Between Two Loves" also stars Rangga Azof, Anggika Bolsterli, Anthony Xie, Asha Assuncao, and many more.
