Vadel Badjideh's Attorney Ready to Exhume the Aborted Fetus Grave

The legal struggle of Vadel Badjideh for justice seems to be pursued by all means. His attorney, Oya Abdul Malik, even revealed the extreme step that is ready to be taken if the appeal and cassation efforts do not yield results, which is to exhume the grave of the fetus Lolly, child of Nikita Mirzani, to conduct a DNA test.

This step is considered as new evidence (novum) that can be submitted in the Reconsideration process (PK) at the Supreme Court. The goal is singular: to scientifically prove that Vadel is not the biological father of the aborted fetus.

Oya stated that the exhumation of the fetal remains is a last-ditch effort to reveal the true truth to the wider community.

"If it turns out that with these two efforts it still doesn't work, then the last effort can prove that it is not Vadel's child," said Oya Abdul Malik at the South Jakarta District Court on Monday (10/6/2025).

This discourse also answers the doubts of some netizens who believe that DNA testing is impossible because the fetal remains have been buried for a long time. Oya firmly denied this assumption.

"Some say, 'How can it be, it's been buried for a long time.' Viewers, try to learn smart. DNA does not disappear for decades. So it can still be sampled. I know where it was buried," he explained.

According to him, if this new evidence is successfully presented, then the truth about who the biological father of the fetus is will be revealed clearly.

"Yes, that’s if it goes to the PK (Judicial Review), that’s new evidence. If there is new evidence, then expose it. So that the public knows who this child actually belongs to," said Oya.

Nevertheless, Oya emphasized that for now he will first focus on the ongoing appeal process. He hopes that the judges at the appellate level can more carefully consider the facts presented during the trial.

"I’ll just focus on the appeal and cassation efforts. If it turns out that with those two efforts it’s still not resolved, then, the last effort can prove that this is not Vadel's child," he concluded.
