Vanessa Angel Has Been Taking Xanax Since 2016 and Even Considered Suicide

The unpredictable shooting schedule is the reason Vanessa uses the calming medication.

"Since 2016. Because of the unpredictable shooting schedule, I have trouble sleeping, Your Honor, I have insomnia," said Vanessa Angel in the West Jakarta District Court on Monday (5/10/2020).

However, Vanessa admitted that at that time she used it irregularly and under a doctor's prescription. She only used it when her mental condition was unstable.

And when she was involved in the online prostitution case in 2019, her mental condition worsened. Therefore, she chose to use xanax.

"The worst was at the beginning of 2019. I was talking to myself and feeling sad alone," she said.

However, after getting married, Vanessa admitted that she no longer consumed xanax. She said her life was back to normal and she didn't need xanax anymore.

"After getting married, no more, I have a husband who accompanies me, I have a family. Ever since I got married and had a child, I no longer have trouble sleeping, everything is normal," she said.

2. Understanding Husband

Meanwhile, Bibi Ardiansyah, Vanessa's husband, understands her choice to use xanax when she was involved in the online prostitution case.

He was well aware of her mental condition at that time. "Back then, she didn't have parents, siblings, or a boyfriend, she didn't have any direction in life, so she had to resort to that and she also had acute gastric acid," he said.

According to Bibi, at that time Vanessa Angel even wanted to commit suicide by jumping from a hotel.

"And she also wanted to commit suicide, she told me she wanted to jump from the hotel because she was ashamed of not having anyone and everyone judged her," he explained.
