"Upon arriving in West Sumatra, I saw for myself how the residents are going through this tough time. I heard many stories that day, both about loss and about efforts to endure. Therefore, I tried to be present not just with words, but also with personal assistance to support what is needed," he wrote in an IG post on Sunday (30/11).

"We may not be able to fix everything in one day, but presence and care are the beginning of recovery. Padang and Sumatra are strong not only because of their people, but because we all choose to strengthen each other!" he continued.

"Today, upon arriving at one of the flood-affected points in Padang, I felt it from the very first step. Amid the debris, the houses submerged and left with mud, a mother recounted how the water rose so quickly, leaving no time to save anything," he explained.

"Sumatra may be hurting, but it is not without hope. Today, I saw for myself how hope still shines in the eyes of everyone I met. May the recovery be swift and may we all continue to be part of the strength to rise together," he continued.
