Visiting Thalassemia Patients with Celebrity Colleagues, Devita Rusdi

Kapanlagi.com - Devita Rusdi and her foundation, Srikandi Laskar Merah Putih, continue to carry out social activities. Like on Saturday (2/29) yesterday, they visited RS Hermina Jatinegara to provide support to thalassemia patients.

Some of those seen participating in the social activity include Rhemanty Ingrid, Shinta Bachir, Uci Sucita, Aida Saskia, Uut Permatasari, and the chairman of Laskar Merah Putih, Asrad Cannu. Thalassemia itself is a condition where a person is unable to produce red blood cells and hemoglobin.

"Everyone here at Srikandi Laskar Merah Putih is a remarkable cross-profession fighter, not only beautiful on the outside but also beautiful on the inside. At first, we didn't know what thalassemia was, but thankfully we all gained knowledge," Devita said.

Some of the beautiful women who participated in the social activity initially did not know what thalassemia was. The same goes for Shinta Bachir, who eventually realized the importance of getting a blood test.

"It turns out we need a blood test, especially during the dating phase. Sometimes Indonesians are reluctant to get a blood test. It's a matter of pride. Treating is more expensive than preventing. I saw earlier that children have to undergo blood transfusions from a young age, so I also need to get a blood test for my child," Shinta continued.

"There is a solution. According to the doctor, for couples who are in love and planning to get married, it is better to adopt a child if they have thalassemia. So, they don't need to have their own child to prevent the inheritance of this disease," Devita concluded.
