Youtuber Ferdian Paleka Caught After Chasing with the Police Following a Prank on Transgender People

Kapanlagi.com - Youtuber Ferdian Paleka is once again the talk of netizens. After being on the run from the police, Ferdian, who created trash prank content targeting transgender people, has finally been arrested by the police for allegedly violating the ITE Law.

Ferdian was apprehended by officers from the Bandung Metropolitan Police on Friday dawn (8/5/2020) on the Tangerang - Merak Toll Road, after fleeing to Banten. There was a chase between the police and the car driven by Ferdian, which was said to be heading towards Jakarta.

"There was a chase, starting from around KM 21 or 22. He was only stopped when he was about to reach it," said Kanit PJR Bitung Ditgakkum Korlantas Polri, Ipda Giyarto when contacted by Liputan6.com, Friday (8/5/2020).

1. Ipda Giyarto Describes the Chronology

Ipda Giyarto then explained the chronology of Ferdian's arrest. His team received a request from the West Java Regional Police's Criminal Investigation Unit to assist in securing Ferdian Paleka, as the car he was riding passed through the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road.

"Around 23:00 or 23:30 on Thursday night, the West Java Regional Police's Criminal Investigation Unit visited PJR. They coordinated and asked for assistance in pursuing and apprehending the suspected YouTuber selling trash, named Ferdian Paleka," said Ipda Giyarto.

2. Using a Loudspeaker

The pursuit was carried out using a loudspeaker, repeatedly warning the car that Ferdian was in to stop. The officers kept tailing the sedan, while continuously sounding the siren and issuing warnings through the loudspeaker.

"They were shouted at through the loudspeaker, as a form of shock therapy, and the car pulled over right before the Tangerang toll exit at KM 19," said Ipda Giyarto.

3. No Resistance

After the car stopped and pulled over, the team led directly by the Deputy Director of Criminal Investigation of West Java Regional Police, secured Ferdian. Inside the car, there were three men who were also involved in Ferdian's escape.

"There was no resistance during the arrest. Then, they were taken by the four officers to the Tangerang Police Station, the nearest jurisdiction," said Ipda Giyarto.

4. Now in Bandung

Meanwhile, Ferdian and his friends who were also apprehended are now at the West Java Regional Police in Bandung. This was confirmed by the Metro Tangerang Police Chief, Police Commissioner Sugeng.

"The arrest was directly led by the Deputy Director of Criminal Investigation (West Java Regional Police), they were initially taken to the Benteng Police Station (Tangerang) because there were four people detained, so handcuffs were needed to bring them to Bandung. After that, they were immediately taken to Bandung last night," concluded Police Commissioner Sugeng.
