"Coincidentally, I am an orphan, a widower, and everything, this is a replacement for my parents, I just follow the tradition of giving and receiving," said Saipul Jamil at his residence in Serang, Banten, on Thursday (2/9).
Saipul Jamil also explained the meaning behind the way he was greeted. According to him, it is a symbolic gesture to bring back his fortune and open it up again as it used to be.
"That was just to bring back my fortune, it's a tradition, not to get rid of bad luck. I don't know the amount, I just follow it until I arrive home safely," he said.
"Yes, just follow the coins. If it's just in my mind, hopefully I will get more blessings. We've spent everything," he continued.
In addition, the singer who is familiarly called Bang Ipul admitted that from initially being ignorant of the law, he now understands more after more than five years of serving his sentence.
