Before achieving success like today, it turns out that Ndarboy Genk also went through bitter times in life. During his college days in Semarang, Ndarboy Genk once sold nasi pecel and sold his motorcycle to survive and achieve his dream of becoming a singer.

In an interview with the KapanLagi team, Ndarboy Genk revealed, "I was told by my parents to become a teacher, but I didn’t want to, so I didn’t go home. I sold my motorcycle and sold pecel in Semarang to survive".

4. Life Story Adapted into a Series

The life journey of Ndarboy Genk, from the ups and downs of pursuing his dream as a musician to his love story, has been adapted into a series titled CIDRO ASMORO.

This series premiered in January 2023. Starring Ndarboy Genk as Daru, the series also features several other koplo Javanese musicians such as Denny Caknan, Guyon Waton, Pendosa, and many more.
