Dewi Perssik Praises Melani Sidrap, Achieves 3 SO and D'Boss at Dangdut Academy 8

Kapanlagi.com - Dewi Perssik, along with Lesti Kejora and Soimah, stood together to give a standing ovation for Melani from Sidrap on the stage of Dangdut Academy 8 Top 31 Group 2, Tuesday (11/8/2026). Melani performed last and closed the session with a total of 3 SOs.

After the performance, Ramzi delivered a special status for Melani, who not only left with a standing ovation. "Melani Sidra is the second academia to receive D'Boss after Zhifanna, performing last and getting 3 SOs and D'Boss," Ramzi stated.

The title of D'Boss places Melani as the second academy participant to achieve it after Zhifanna. In addition to the judges' appreciation, Melani also qualified for the next round in Dangdut Academy 8.

1. SO Three Judges and the Title of D'Boss on Stage Top 31

Melani performed last in Top 31 Group 2 and continued to capture attention. The three main judges, Dewi Perssik, Lesti Kejora, and Soimah, simultaneously stood up to give a standing ovation for her performance.

On stage, it was mentioned that Melani's achievement that night did not stop at the standing ovation alone. She also received the title of D'Boss, making her the second contestant to receive that title this season after Zhifanna.

The combination of 3 full standing ovations and D'Boss solidified Melani's position. She is assured of moving on to the next round after her performance was rated solid from start to finish.

Dewi Perssik was one of the judges who was most impressed with Melani's performance. She praised the energy and vocal power that remained intact even though Melani performed last.

"The last performance of the contestants makes us excited, your energy, your power, plus your voice which I really like, that timbre is indeed round," said Dewi Perssik.

According to Dewi, the song material performed by Melani was quite dense, but the articulation sounded clear with strong confidence. She mentioned that she could read Melani's fighting spirit from the look in her eyes while singing.

In the same moment, Rizky Billar added that from the beginning, Dewi appeared to enjoy Melani's performance, even dancing along with Lesti. Dewi added that performing last—especially for female contestants—often correlates with a decline in physical condition, but that was not evident in Melani, who continued to sing with enthusiasm.

3. Lesti's Remarks and Soimah's Highlights on Mastery of Material

Lesti Kejora congratulated Melani on her new status as D'Boss. "Congratulations on being D'Boss, I hope this can motivate you to become even better," said Lesti.

Lesti assessed that the song material presented by Melani was rich in lyrics and required a lot of body movement, which could potentially exhaust breath while singing and storytelling. She initially suspected Melani would run out of breath, but in reality, the performance remained tidy without appearing out of breath.

Meanwhile, Soimah emphasized the focus and expression that successfully captured the attention of the audience and judges at the end of Group 2. "I applaud your focus, you maintained good concentration with your material, you mastered the material very well and your improvisation was also neatly executed," praised Soimah.

Soimah added that the seemingly light song actually required considerable breath control to execute well. After her comments, Melani was officially declared to have progressed to the next round in Dangdut Academy 8.
