Held Virtually, Auditions for Liga Dangdut Indonesia 2021 Said to Make it Easier for Prospective Participants

Considering that Indonesia is currently still affected by the never-ending Covid-19 pandemic, the auditions will be conducted virtually. During the press conference for the virtual auditions of LIDA 2021 in North Sumatra, held on Friday (12/4), Linda Wibisono, the GM Acquisition Local Indosiar, said that virtual auditions can actually make it easier for prospective participants. Not only that, the scope of the auditions can also be expanded.

"Actually, when auditions are opened online, it already covers all regions in Indonesia. In fact, the number of registrations is much wider in scope, wider than off-air auditions," said Linda Wibisono.

1. No Need to Visit the Location

In addition, Joshua Sitohang as the Local Acquisition of Indosiar added that prospective participants do not have to come to the audition location. Wherever the prospective participants are, they can still participate in the audition based on the province area in their ID card.

"For the scope of selection, this virtual method is certainly more advantageous. In the past, for example, if the audition was held in Medan, there were only a lot of registrations from around the city of Medan. Now, with this virtual method, it's clear that if their ID card states North Sumatra, the prospective participants don't need to bother coming to the audition center," said Joshua Sitohang.

2. Cannot Be Confirmed Yet

Meanwhile, Linda said that it still cannot be confirmed whether this virtual audition will continue for LIDA 2022. Of course, as long as the pandemic still persists, this virtual audition will continue to be conducted to comply with the government's health protocols.

"We don't know what the future conditions will be like, but the best option for now is like this (virtual) because we also have to avoid crowds and maintain the implementation of health protocols," explained Linda Wibisono.

"Even if the pandemic is over, health protocols still need to be implemented, it won't be as free as previous auditions. Whether the audition will continue like this, we still can't answer because we're still observing what the future will be like," she concluded.
