Inul Daratista Reveals Titiek Puspa's Advice to Her: Nul, Life is to Be Lived

Inul Daratista and the late Titiek Puspa are known to have had a very close relationship. Titiek Puspa was one of the senior artists who supported Inul Daratista during her conflict with Rhoma Irama and her being banned everywhere. Inul herself was one of the artists present at Titiek Puspa's last moments in the hospital.

Recently, Inul Daratista revealed Titiek Puspa's advice to her. In an Instagram post on Monday (12/5/2025), Inul mentioned several pieces of advice from the legend for her.

Firstly, Inul mentioned that Titiek Puspa said life should be lived with enthusiasm. Inul was encouraged to perform energetically on stage but must be aware of the prevailing situation and conditions.

"Grandma Titiek Puspa often says, 'Nul, life must shine (you must live brightly). You may perform on stage and have fun, but you must know your place and the rules,'" wrote Inul.

Titiek Puspa also mentioned that Inul must always appear professional and continuously upgrade herself to compete with younger artists.

"Clothes must be nice, jewelry must be genuine, if possible. Every appearance must be special, at least attractive. Always upgrade because you have many competitors, especially the younger ones," Inul continued, mimicking Titiek Puspa's advice to her.

Hard work, communication skills, and the ability to place oneself are the keys to being the best according to Titiek Puspa.

"Any job requires hard work and a clear mind in thinking to be the best. You must be able to place yourself in front of whom you are dealing with, speak politely, don't be rude," he continued.

Inul mentioned that she was reminded of Titiek Puspa because she had just performed, singing songs of the late artist as a request from the bride's family who invited her.
