Lesti Kejora Reveals Complete Chronology of Yoni Dores' Legal Notice in Front of the Constitutional Court Judge

Kapanlagi.com - Dangdut singer Lesti Kejora was seen visiting the Constitutional Court (MK) building in Central Jakarta on Tuesday (22/7/2025). Not without reason, her arrival was to be a witness in the continued hearing of the material test of the Copyright Law. In front of the MK judges, Lesti Kejora also revealed the chronology of the events that led her to deal with legal issues related to copyright. The mother of two detailed how a performance at a wedding led her to face criminal threats.

It all began a few years after her performance in Subang in 2018. Surprisingly, she received a letter of warning or legal notice from the lawyer of the creator of the song "Bagai Ranting yang Kering", Yoni Dores. She also mentioned the date she received the letter.

"Eight years later, precisely on March 1, 2025, I received a warning letter from the lawyer of the song creator, Mr. Yoni Dores," said Lesti Kejora in front of MK judge Suhartoyo at the Constitutional Court on Tuesday (22/7/2025).

The warning letter contained serious allegations directed at her. The performer of 'Kulepas Dengan Ikhlas' is considered to have showcased the copyrighted work without obtaining direct permission from the maestro. He also explained the content of the accusations directed at him.

"Those stating that I am considered to have showcased that work without direct permission from its creator," he said.

The warning is serious, as Lesti is accused of committing a criminal violation. This accusation is based on the articles listed in Law Number 28 of 2014 concerning Copyright. Here is the complete statement from the singer.

"In the legal notice, I was even accused of violating the criminal provisions in Law Number 28 of 2014 concerning Copyright," Lesti explained.

The issue did not stop at the legal notice. About two months later, the situation became even more complicated when Lesti received information that she had been officially reported to the police. She again mentioned the exact date when she learned of the news.

"It didn't stop there, on May 18, 2025, I received information that Mr. Yoni Dores had officially made a police report," she said.

The report was made directly against her and submitted to the Metro Jaya Police. Lesti recounted how she became the reported party in a case that she believes arose due to ambiguous regulations. She also shared details of the report made against her.

"I have filed a police report against myself to the Metro Jaya Police," said Lesti.

With the existence of this official report, her position has become increasingly difficult. The accusations directed at her are very clear, namely committing copyright infringement by singing the song without permission. She outlined the essence of the police report that ensnared her.

"With the accusation of committing copyright infringement for using her copyrighted song without permission," said Lesti.
