Rarely Highlighted, Inul Reveals She Has Sent Many Employees on Hajj Since 2003

Known as a successful dangdut singer with a stable business, Inul Daratista apparently has a noble habit that is not widely known to the public. She claims to regularly send employees to the Holy Land every year, even starting from the early 2000s.

"I have actually been sending people for Hajj every year, but the first time I sent someone was in 2002-2003, and I just sent them again 2 years ago, so it’s gradual," Inul revealed when met in the Kapten Tendean area, South Jakarta.

According to Inul, the departures are indeed not immediate due to the long waiting process for Hajj. Some of her employees who registered 10 to 20 years ago have only been able to depart in the last few years.

"Many are waiting in line, yes. So the ones who applied 10 years ago just departed, while those who applied 20 years ago have already departed a few years ago," he said.

However, among all those who have departed, there are still a few names that have not received their hajj schedule even though they registered a long time ago.

"It's just that the last ones are a bit troublesome, you know, some people, yes, they haven't been counted, so there are about 3-4 people left," Inul continued.

He also admitted to being disappointed with the continually delayed schedule. In fact, according to him, there is news that those who have not departed may only be able to go in 2026 or 2027.

"The one yesterday was delayed until it was postponed. I don't know about this one. They say it's 2026-2027. Let's see. If it gets pushed back again, um, that would be outrageous," he said.

Nevertheless, Inul continues to regularly send employees for umrah every year. For her, fulfilling the spiritual dreams of her employees is a form of happiness in itself.

"It's just satisfaction because with abundant and blessed sustenance, being able to send people for umrah is also their dream, right?" she said.

Inul mentioned that this noble decision came from an agreement with her husband, Adam Suseno. There was no specific inspiration, just a personal desire to share in worship.

"There's no inspiration, because for most Muslims, their greatest dream is definitely to visit Al-Haram, to go there, see Mecca, you know," said the singer of "Buaya Buntung."

He also considers the experience of going to Mecca to be far more memorable than expensive gifts. "For other things, whether you give a gift of 100 million, 5 million, or 5 cents, it’s all the same, it will just disappear, but going to Mecca creates a beautiful memory, you know," he concluded.
