Yoni Dores Denies Accusations of Extorting Lesti Kejora Through Police Report

"I have no thought of wanting to extort anything, none at all, far from it," said Yoni at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters on Tuesday (3/6/2025).

Yoni claims to fully understand Lesti's struggles as a singer who works hard to earn a living. This is a strong reason for him to reject the notion that he is trying to take a shortcut by reporting Lesti to the police.

"I also wouldn’t be so easy to extort, that thought is far from me," said Yoni.

1. No Evil Intent

Furthermore, Yoni stated that he never had any evil intent towards Lesti in this matter. He regrets the negative assumptions that have developed regarding the reporting, which he actually intended for clarity.

"It's not that I solely want to harm, especially to the extent that it has developed into wanting to extort, that's far from me, it's forbidden for me," he added.

Yoni explained that the main purpose of the report was so that he could meet Lesti directly. The reason is that he has tried to contact the singer multiple times but never received a response.

2. Three Times Visited Lesti's House

"I have come to Lesti's house three times with no response. After three months, I was thinking about how I could meet Lesti," he said.

The meeting is needed by Yoni to seek clarity regarding the use of his song by several YouTube accounts. He feels Lesti could help reveal who is responsible for the misuse.

"I just want to clear up the issue of who is behind this, Lesti must know, for example, at the concert in Majalengka, she knows who the invitations are from, that can be traced," he continued.

3. Legal Protection Efforts

On the other hand, Yoni's lawyer, Deolipa Yumara, asserted that this legal action is taken to uphold justice over the copyright of the song created by his client. He stated that this is a legal protection effort for the creators of the work.

"This is for Bang Yoni to obtain justice for his position as a creator. A song creator, yes. This is related to copyright law, yes," said Deolipa.

Deolipa added that Lesti is not the main target in the report. According to him, the report is aimed at YouTube accounts that have used Yoni's work without permission.

"So that this creation is appreciated. But Bang Yoni also actually appreciates singers. Because a song creation without a singer is also empty in nature," he concluded.
