Dating an AI Version of Brad Pitt, This French Woman Lost Rp13 Billion

Kapanlagi.com - A 53-year-old French woman named Anne fell victim to an online scam that resulted in a loss of around €830,000 (approximately Rp 13.8 billion) after being trapped in a fake relationship with someone pretending to be the famous actor Brad Pitt.

Her story gained attention after she shared her experience on the French television program, TF1.

According to greekreporter.com, the scam lasted for about a year and a half, starting in early 2023 when Anne had just created a social media account to share vacation photos.

1. Photos That Look Convincing

She received a message from someone claiming to be Brad Pitt's mother, Jane Etta Pitt, who said that her son needed a woman like her. After that, Anne began communicating with someone who claimed to be Brad Pitt through various platforms, including WhatsApp.

The scammer used artificial intelligence (AI) technology to edit photos of Brad Pitt and send convincing fake images. The scammer even made it look like the photos were taken specifically for Anne.

2. Initially Hesitant

"When I did my research, I couldn't find those photos. So, I thought, 'This is a photo he took for me'," said Anne in Sept à huit.

Anne was initially hesitant but eventually softened with the romantic messages and poems sent by the scammer.

"I love the man who talks to me," Anne said in her testimony. "He knows how to talk to a woman." she added.

3. Sending Money Regularly

She believes that Brad Pitt is experiencing health issues and needs money for his kidney treatment because his bank account has been frozen due to the divorce process with Angelina Jolie.

Anne regularly transfers large sums of money to the scammer through an account in Turkey, totaling around $850,000. As a result of being scammed, Anne is now homeless and living with a friend. She still has about $41,000 in savings.

After realizing that she has been scammed, Anne fell into depression and felt stressed due to mockery on social media after her story went viral. She feels very confused and angry because she has never hurt anyone in her life. The television station TF1 even pulled her interview from airing to protect Anne from bullying.
