Amazing! 'KKN di Desa Penari' Breaks the Record for the First Day Sales of Indonesian Horror Films

With the sale of 315,486 tickets on the opening day, the movie KKN di Desa Penari broke the record for the highest opening day ticket sales for Indonesian horror films. This achievement surpassed the previous record holder, the movie DANUR 3: Sunyaruri, which was also produced by MD Pictures. At that time, on its premiere day, DANUR 3 managed to sell 251,157 tickets.

2. Synopsis of 'KKN DI DESA PENARI'

KKN di Desa Penari is a film adapted from the phenomenal and best-selling novel by Simpleman. In addition to being directed by the talented Awi Suryadi, the film also stars Tissa Biani, Adinda Thomas, Achmad Megantara, Aghniny Haque, Calvin Jeremy, M Fajar Nugraha, Kiki Narendra, and Aulia Sarah.

The film begins with 6 students carrying out KKN (Community Service Program) in a remote village, Nur (Tissa Biani), Widya (Adinda Thomas), Ayu (Aghniny Haque), Bima (Achmad Megantara), Anton (Calvin Jeremy), and Wahyu (M.Fajar Nugraha) never imagined that the village they chose was not an ordinary village. Pak Prabu (Kiki Narendra), the village chief, warns them not to cross the forbidden gate, a gate that leads to Tapak Tilas. That mysterious place may have something to do with the beautiful dancer who begins to disturb Nur and Widya.

One by one, they begin to feel the strangeness of the village, and Bima begins to change his attitude. Their KKN program is a mess, and it seems that the invisible residents of the village do not like them. Nur finally discovers the shocking fact that one of them has broken the most fatal rule in the village. The terror of the mysterious dancer becomes even more frightening, and they try to seek help from Mbah Buyut (Diding Boneng), a local shaman, but it is too late. They are threatened with not being able to return safely from the village known as the village of dancers.
