Kapanlagi.com - In 2019, Twitter was abuzz over the appearance of a thread called KKN di Desa Penari written by a user named Simpleman. One of the reasons why the story went viral was because it was suspected to be based on a true story.
A little flashback, KKN di Desa Penari tells the story of 6 students who were doing a community service program in a remote village in East Java. During the program, they experienced a series of mystical events, one of which was being terrorized by a beautiful dancing ghost that eventually took the lives of 2 students.
Throughout the thread, Simpleman, the creator of the thread, did not mention the location details clearly. Even so, he labeled several area names and cities with alphabet letters, such as City B which was mentioned as the location of KKN, city S which was the origin of the students' university, Forest D, Village W in K District and several others.
Because there was no clarity revealed by the creator of the thread about the location, netizens became very curious. Some even started racing to do their own analysis to solve the mystery of the location of the 'dancing village'.
Some people may no longer be interested or care about the mystery of the KKN location in Penari Village, considering that the story went viral about 3 years ago. However, the curiosity arises again, because the viral story has been made into a feature film by MD Pictures with the same title; KKN DI DESA PENARI which is scheduled to be released on April 30, 2022.
So, back to the discussion of the mystery location of KKN in Penari Village. Many suspect that Banyuwangi is the scene of the crime (TKP). Some reasons are:
1. Simpleman mentioned that the incident occurred in City B, East Java. Well, one of the locations that matches the initials is none other than Banyuwangi.
2. Banyuwangi has long been known for its various mystical stories.
3. Banyuwangi is also known for its dance art. There is even a statue of a dancer welcoming visitors when they arrive there.
What about the village in the middle of the forest that was told in the story? There are several speculations that have emerged regarding the actual location of the KKN incident. One of them, as revealed by an account named @mirrorgenk on Instagram:
"So code B is Banyuwangi. Forest D is Darungan. Village W is Wongsokerto hamlet. City K is Kalibaru district. Through city J is Jember. Jember Kalibaru doesn't take less than an hour," wrote the post.
The post explains in detail about the alleged location of KKN in Wongsokerto Village, Kalibaru Wetan Village, Kalibaru District, Banyuwangi Regency.It is explained that to reach the village, you have to travel through Wonorejo Hamlet and then go north.Then from the direction of Mount Raung, there is still a paved road, on the Raung side there is a footpath from the ground to the right or east.From there, the road can no longer be passed by car and meets with PTPN forest land and several houses of residents.
Although from the above analysis, almost all the characteristics described are similar to what Simpleman told in the KKN thread in Penari Village, but until now there has been no official statement or certainty regarding the location.This means that everything is still ambiguous.
As we know, the hype for the movie KKN DI DESA PENARI itself is already high ahead of its premiere in theaters on April 30, 2022. Although it has not been released yet, believe it or not, advanced ticket sales (ATS) for KKN DI DESA PENARI are already selling like hotcakes in various cities. The news was conveyed by the director, Awi Suryadi, himself through a tweet on his official Twitter account.
"Jogja, Solo, Pekalongan, Semarang are ready to meet Badarawuhi! @bicaraboxoffice @txtanakbioskop @cinema21 @SimpleM81378523 @KKNMovie," wrote Awi in his post while uploading a photo as proof that the seats are almost full.
