"Changing Calvin Jeremy's physical appearance was also necessary to bring the character of Anton to life, like growing a mustache, gaining weight, and having messy hair. And I also got used to not taking baths, because imagine doing KKN in a remote village where water is scarce," said the singer of the song Maaf.

The movie KKN DI DESA PENARI is heavily influenced by the Javanese language and accent. Of course, it was also a challenge for Calvin who was not used to using that language in his daily life.

"The Javanese accent was also the biggest challenge. We were grateful to meet the children from Yogyakarta there, the owners of the Aku Aktor community named Banyu Bening. He was the one who accompanied us during our stay there, not only helping us maintain the accent but also keeping our motivation high throughout the events. But there will always be debates about the Javanese accent," explained Calvin.

KKN DI DESA PENARI is based on a true story that went viral on Twitter. The film tells the story of 6 students who carry out KKN (student community service) in a remote village that holds many mysteries and mystical stories.

The six students are Nur (Tissa Biani), Widya (Adinda Thomas), Ayu (Aghniny Haque), Bima (Achmad Megantara), Anton (Calvin Jeremy), and Wahyu (Fajar Nugraha). They never imagined that the village they chose to practice KKN was not an ordinary village.

Pak Prabu, the village chief, warned them not to cross the forbidden gate. Their KKN program slowly fell apart. It seems that the supernatural inhabitants of the village do not like their presence.
