Cutting Short Hair for the Movie 'ANCIKA', This is Zee JKT48's Struggle to Ask for Parental Permission

Kapanlagi.com - Azizi Asadel or better known as Zee JKT48 is involved in a movie titled ANCIKA: DIA YANG BERSAMAKU 1995. In the romantic drama adaptation of Pidi Baiq's novel, Zee plays the main character named Ancika.

To bring the character of Ancika to life, Zee is required to cut her hair short up to her neck. Because of that, Zee first asked for permission from her parents who never agreed to let their daughter have short hair.

"Because having short hair is a requirement, I tried to ask my parents for permission to cut my hair short. When I cut it, they were sad. Not sad in a bad way, my dad said 'Oh, my daughter really cut her hair short, it's a pity'. But they were supportive," said Zee when met at MD Place, Setiabudi area, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (27/12/2023).

1. The Beginning of Not Being Allowed to Cut Hair

Zee JKT48 revealed the reason why she was never allowed to cut her hair short by her parents. Apparently, she was once in a situation where she was the only girl in the house. If she cut her hair short, her parents would feel like they only had a son.

"From the beginning, my parents didn't like me having short hair. Because my sibling is a boy, my twin is a boy, and at that time, I was the only girl in the house. With my tomboyish nature, what would differentiate me from my siblings? So they didn't like seeing me with short hair. Well, they're my parents, so I just listened to them," she explained.

2. Initiative to Lose Weight

Not only did Zee JKT48 cut her hair, but she also lost weight before shooting, about three kilograms. She wanted to ensure that with short hair, her face wouldn't look round on camera.

"Having short hair makes my face look rounder. So I took the initiative to lose weight. It's not a significant weight loss, just three kilos. But those three kilos were lost in two weeks of preparation for the shoot, so it had to be quick and instant," said the daughter of presenter Fadli Akhmad.
