Ready to Surprise the Public! Kevin Julio Accepts the Role of a Effeminate Man in the Series 'HARUS KAWIN'

Kapanlagi.com - Kevin Julio is ready to surprise the public with his involvement in the series titled HARUS KAWIN. It's no wonder, he will play the role of an effeminate man named Michael who is constantly being pressured by his mother to get married to a woman.

When accepting this role, Kevin certainly considered it thoroughly. Because he doesn't want to stop in the middle of production considering that the shooting process takes almost two months.

"When I was offered to play in this series, I read the synopsis first. Is this character logical or not because I don't want to do it carelessly. Can the character be portrayed by me or not because it's quite difficult. Moreover, the shooting takes quite a long time, if I'm not mentally prepared, it can be confusing to go through," said Kevin when met at CGV FX Sudirman, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (20/12/2023).

1. Research on the Character of Effeminate Men

To embody the role of an effeminate man, Kevin Julio conducted research by watching films as references. He also had many discussions with Vemmy Sagita, the director, regarding the level of effeminacy that should be portrayed.

"Before shooting, there were several films that I watched to incorporate slay gestures into the character. There were also some things developed on location, depending on my chit chat with the director. Because Michael here is still searching for his identity, having lost his father and living with a funny character of a mother," Kevin explained.

2. Difficulty in Memorizing Dialogues

During the filming of the series 'HARUS KAWIN', Kevin Julio felt challenged when he had to dialogue using the language typically used by effeminate men. It's no wonder he often repeated scenes to make them appear convincing.

"My part in this series is quite extensive. The difficulty lies mainly in the dialogue. The script itself is already quite long, and the pace has to be fast. So, it has to be learned and memorized from the reading to master the script," said the man who is rumored to be in a relationship with Imelda Therrine.
