Erika Carlina Reveals Psychological Challenges in the Horror Film 'PENGANTIN SETAN'

Kapanlagi.com - Actress Erika Carlina shares her story about the heavy challenges she faced while starring in the latest horror film PENGANTIN SETAN. In the film, Erika plays the main character named Echa, a woman who experiences supernatural terror from a jinn named Dasim.

During the shooting process, Erika revealed that the psychological aspect was a heavier test for her compared to the physical aspect. Some scenes in the film, especially those related to pregnancy and children, had a profound emotional impact on her.

"During the shooting, my psyche was quite damaged compared to my physical state," said Erika Carlina when met at XXI Epicentrum Kuningan, South Jakarta, Friday (10/1/2025).

1. Emotionally Draining Scene

One of the scenes that is very emotionally draining is the scene in the bathroom. Erika mentioned that this moment became one of the most difficult experiences during her acting career.

"Especially the scene in the bathroom was quite psychologically torturous," she continued.

2. Character Deepening

Although she does not have children yet, Erika feels her emotions are affected while delving into the character of Echa. The feelings that Echa experiences as a wife and prospective mother seem to also become a part of her.

"Even though I don't have children yet, as a woman, when we get into the character, it really feels intense," she revealed.

3. Physical Scenes

In addition to psychological challenges, Erika also has to face physically demanding scenes, such as using a sling in certain scenes. Even so, she feels that the psychological burden is far more dominant during the shooting process.

"The heavy scenes using a sling and everything are indeed tough, but there are more scenes that are more psychologically draining," Erika said.

4. The Disturbance of a Jin Figure

DEMON BRIDE tells the story of the married life of Echa and Ariel, which initially was harmonious but turned into a nightmare. Their life is disturbed by a jin figure named Dasim, who is obsessed with Echa and wants to make her his bride.

Dasim's disturbances create terror that threatens the couple's safety. Echa even begins to experience hallucinations due to the supernatural pressure that continues to haunt her.
