Fajar Nugraha Discusses the Mystery of Simpleman's Identity, the Author of 'KKN DI DESA PENARI'

Kapanlagi.com - In 2019, Twitter users were amazed by a thread written by a user named Simpleman. The story was called KKN DI DESA PENARI and it caused quite a stir. It went so viral that the story's rights were bought by MD Pictures and turned into a feature film.

Originally, the feature film version of KKN DI DESA PENARI was scheduled to be released in 2020. However, the screening had to be postponed due to the pandemic. And now, the film directed by Awi Suryadi is set to be released on April 30, 2022.

This news is certainly welcomed by fans who have been waiting for so long. Even the cast members are eager to watch it on the big screen, like Fajar Nugraha who plays the character Wahyu.

"Of course (excited). Honestly, I'm really excited about this film. Because I also read the thread on Twitter, so I'm still very excited. Moreover, when I see many people on social media who are also excited about this film, it makes me even more excited," Fajar said in a recent interview with KapanLagi.com.

1. Is Simpleman a Professional Writer?

In a conversation with KapanLagi.com, there was a discussion about Simpleman, the writer of the thread KKN DI DESA PENARI. As known, Simpleman's identity is still a mystery and has not been revealed.

"This person's name is Simpleman, but when you see his tweets, they're not simple at all. There are so many. And as a Twitter user, I usually feel like threads are created by regular people. But when I saw this thread about KKN DI DESA PENARI by Simpleman, it seemed like this person is a writer. It's really good, the way it's conveyed, the delivery, everything, we can imagine it," said Fajar.

2. Find Out About Simpleman at the Filming Location

During the filming process, Fajar himself became curious about Simpleman. He tried to find out which person Simpleman was that intrigued the public.

"I really have no idea, seriously. When I arrived at the filming location, I thought that the story of KKN DI DESA PENARI couldn't possibly exist without Simpleman's permission. During filming, I kept thinking, maybe this is Simpleman, but no, he's not holding the light. Maybe this is Simpleman, but no, he's not holding the camera either. So I really have no idea at all, I don't know from the location, and I don't know the person," concluded Fajar.

3. Simpleman Not Very Involved

Previously, Manoj Punjabi as the producer of KKN DI DESA PENARI also spoke about the figure of Simpleman. He mentioned that the mysterious figure was not very involved in the film production process of KKN DI DESA PENARI.

"I always believe that the author of the book, the original writer, should not be too involved, otherwise it would be biased. And Simpleman also handed it over to MD, because he knows that when it comes to making a film, it's a different expertise. So our interaction was quite healthy and he didn't get involved in things like it should be this way or that way," said Manoj to KapanLagi.com.
