The film 'OZORA' is ready to go international, screening in 3 Southeast Asian countries starting January 2026

The film OZORA is confirmed to expand its screening reach to international markets. This collaborative work by Umbara Brother Films will be shown in cinemas in Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei Darussalam in January 2026. This confirmation was announced during the signing session of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the Kuningan area, South Jakarta, on Friday (28/11/2025).

The decision to bring OZORA to the Southeast Asian market emerged while the film, starring Muzakki Ramdhan and Chicco Jerikho, was still in the production stage. This step proves that the major theme raised by this film, namely the struggle of families of victims of brutal abuse, has broad relevance in various countries.

In a press conference, director and producer Anggy Umbara revealed that cooperation with the Malaysian side had been established since the early stages of production.

"We have been collaborating, so Dbay Film Factory has become an associate producer for one of our films, especially OZORA, and there are two more films coming up," said Anggy when met in the Epicentrum area, South Jakarta, on Friday (28/11).

"They also became one of the executive producers for Ozora and our upcoming films," said Anggy after the MoU signing.

This collaboration also opens up broader distribution channels for films produced by Umbara Brothers. Anggy confirmed that OZORA has secured a simultaneous screening schedule in those three countries on January 29, 2026.

The film OZORA itself tells the true story of Jonathan Latumahina's struggle, played by Chicco Jerikho, in fighting for justice for his son, David Ozora. The incident of abuse committed by the child of a high-ranking official in South Jakarta in 2023 sparked public outrage and highlighted issues of power imbalance.

In addition to addressing issues of legal inequality, this film also showcases the power of prayer and interfaith solidarity that supports David's recovery. The character of David is played by Muzakki Ramdhan, supported by a lineup of actors such as Tika Bravani, Donny Damara, Erdin Werdrayana, Annisa Kaila, and Mathias Muchus.

OZORA will premiere in Indonesia on December 4, 2025, before continuing its international screenings. This film is directed as an emotional drama that presents a reconstruction of the case, a legal journey, and the inner dynamics of a family facing a major tragedy.
