Horror 'KIBLAT' Receives Pro and Contra, LSF Reveals the Film Has Not Entered the Censorship Stage

Kapanlagi.com - The horror film KIBLAT produced by Leo Pictures has released its official trailer and poster last Thursday (21/3/2024). However, just a few hours after being circulated, the promotional materials were withdrawn from circulation after sparking controversy among the public.

Ervan Ismail, the Vice Chairman of the Film Censorship Board, stated that the promotional materials in the form of posters and trailers have been registered with the LSF. And they have approved them for promotional purposes.

"So there are two things being discussed, the film poster with a picture of someone in a bowing position, and the trailer which contains scenes from the film. For these two, there is already a letter of approval. If we talk about it, this is related to the promotion or advertisement of the film, which is usually launched before the film is shown," said Ervan when contacted by the media via telephone on Monday (25/3/2024).

1. Not Yet in the Censorship Stage

However, for the film itself, it turns out that Leo Pictures has not registered it with the Film Censorship Board. So the LSF has not yet carried out the censorship process.

"The film itself has not entered the LSF. So the film itself has not yet reached the censorship stage because it has not yet entered us," added Ervan Ismail.

2. Requesting Review of the Film

Although it has not been submitted to the Film Censorship Board for censorship, Leo Pictures has requested that the film be reviewed before entering the censoring process. And the LSF has returned it with some notes.

"There was a producer who requested the LSF to review the film before entering the censoring process. And after we reviewed it, we returned it to the filmmaker with certain notes that have been given," explained Ervan Ismail.
