Kapanlagi.com - Actress Laura Basuki shared her unique experience when she received the role in her latest film, HEARTBREAK MOTEL. Initially, Laura admitted that she already knew that the novel by Ika Natassa would be adapted into a film.
"Before being invited, I already knew this novel would be made into a film and directed by Mas Angga," Laura said when met in the Kuningan area, South Jakarta, Friday (26/7/2024).
Laura Basuki was curious about who would play the character Ava Alessandra, known for being complex and full of emotional layers. She was shocked when she was the one chosen.
"At that time, I thought, 'Wow, this character must be exciting because it's layered and challenging. Who will play it?'" said Laura.
"When I got the call and was told that I was the one chosen, I immediately said, 'I'm dead! I got this challenging role!'" Laura added.

Although initially surprised by the trust, Laura remains grateful to be involved in the film. Moreover, this is her first time working with the director.
"However, on the other hand, I am very happy because I finally got the chance to be directed by Mas Angga," she revealed.
This film tells the story of Ava Alessandra (Laura Basuki), an actress trapped in a toxic relationship with Reza Malik (Reza Rahadian). Ava then escapes to heal her heartache by disguising herself as hotel staff, and during her escape, Ava meets Raga Assad (Chicco Jerikho).
