Jessica Iskandar, Evan Sanders and Nagita Slavina Confirmed Not Involved in 'DEALOVA 2', Here's the Reason

Kapanlagi.com - DEALOVA is a film released in 2005 starring Jessica Iskandar, Ben Joshua, Nagita Slavina, Evan Sanders, and Rizky Hanggono. Upon its release, the teenage drama adaptation of the novel of the same title by Dyan Nuranindya successfully collected 1.7 million viewers.

Now, 15 years later, a sequel titled DEALOVA 2 is made. Looking at the cast, only Rizky Hanggono returns to portray the character Iraz.

1. Different Concept with Jessica Iskandar

When confirmed, Andibachtiar Yusuf as the producer said that Jessica Iskandar, Evan Sanders, and Nagita Slavina were indeed not involved for several reasons. Like Jessica who did not participate in the play even though she was initially invited to play the character Karra.

"Jedar is not involved, it's just not suitable with the schedule and concept. So at that time, we met several times last year. In December, she was going to get married, then in February, our shooting schedule was postponed, and suddenly the concept we gave her didn't match. Finally, we looked for another alternative," said Andibachtiar Yusuf when met by KapanLagi.com during the shooting of DEALOVA 2 in Cilincing, North Jakarta, on Sunday (13/9/2020).

2. No Ibel Character

Then Evan Sanders was also contacted regarding his involvement in playing the character Ibel again. However, in the middle of the process, Dyan Nuranindya, who acted as the scriptwriter, changed the story so that the character Ibel was removed.

"Evan Sanders was contacted at that time, but Dyan changed the form of the story," continued the man who is familiarly called Ucup.

3. Nagita Slavina Not Involved

Meanwhile, Nagita Slavina, who played the character Finta in DEALOVA, was not involved again from the beginning. This is related to the story's interests.

"If Nagita was not approached from the beginning. Because in the end, it's also for the needs of the story. We return everything to Dyan," he said.
