Not Just Acting, Luna Maya Debuts as Executive Producer in the Horror Film Adaptation of the True Story 'SUMALA'

Kapanlagi.com - Luna Maya is trying something new in the film industry that she has been involved in for over a decade. She is taking on the role of executive producer, which involves financial matters.

For her debut as an executive producer, Luna joined the latest production from Hitmaker Studios titled SUMALA. Although she also stars in this horror film directed by Rizal Mantovani, she is able to carry out both roles to the best of her ability.

"This is my first experience as an executive producer. While acting, I can manage it just fine. When I'm on set, I act as a performer," said Luna when met in the Thamrin area, Central Jakarta, on Saturday (21/9/2024).

Luna Maya admitted that she has been interested in getting involved behind the scenes of film production for a long time. Coincidentally, this has become common practice among famous actors and actresses, especially in Hollywood.

"I've actually been interested for a long time (in behind-the-scenes work). Because if we look at it, especially in Hollywood, this is already a common thing. It's something really common. Not something extraordinary," said the girlfriend of Maxime Bouttier.

2. Long-Term Income

Luna Maya stated that being an executive producer means the payment is not just a one-time fee like when she is asked to be an actor. Because the income continues until the film finishes screening in theaters.

"As an actor, you could say it's a one-time purchase, whether the film does well or not, the payment is just that. But as an executive producer, it doesn't end once it screens in theaters. For example, if the IP is to be sold a few years later, we also have a stake in that," concluded Luna.
