In fact, I was just talking to Romo Andang from the Archdiocese of Jakarta at half past four this morning to invite Mas Didi to contribute a song for the National Awakening Day event on May 20. Although I haven't known him for long, the togetherness during the making of the film SOBAT AMBYAR in Solo was special." Charles Gozali, who directed the film together with Bagus Bramanti, reminisces about his last moment with Didi Kempot. They often talked about the film project.

"Last contact with the deceased was at the beginning of the year. So at the beginning of the year, we met, took a photo together, because we were taking promotional photos for Mas Didi. I also showed him the edited results from the production team for the SOBAT AMBYAR promotion. We talked, he talked about his desire to hold a big concert at GBK to promote Javanese songs," said Charles.

"After that, we talked a lot but not directly about what we would do before the film screening related to promotion. Because Mas Didi not only contributed his songs but also appeared in several significant scenes as there is a part with Mas Didi and his concert in the opening and closing. However, our recent conversations were only via WhatsApp or Mas Ige," he added.

Not only appearing in the film, it turns out Didi Kempot also played a role as an executive producer of the film. Charles hopes that this film can be a memory for the Indonesian people.

"Luckily the film is already finished. Maybe this is a memento from Mas Didi for many people, for the Indonesian people. Especially for the lovers of Didi's songs and artworks that might be entrusted through us. So, our duty is to finish it as best as possible," he said.

3. Film Release Date

Charles revealed that the film produced by Magma Entertainment and Rapi Films will be released soon after the Covid-19 pandemic. He also hopes that everyone will like the film SOBAT AMBYAR.

"After the cinemas reopen, we have discussed with XXI about rescheduling. We will do our best to invite everyone who misses and wants to remember or appreciate Mas Didi to come and see a work done together with the late artist," he concluded.
