Postponed Twice, Finally 'MENGEJAR SURGA' Film Ready to Screen on May 26, 2022 in All Indonesian Cinemas

Kapanlagi.com - The film MENGEJAR SURGA, a production of Viera, is finally ready to be screened in Indonesian cinemas. Initially postponed for about two years, the film directed by Bambang Drias had already received a release date for cinemas on March 10, 2022.

However, in mid-February 2022, covid-19 experienced a significant increase in cases with a new variant, namely Omicron. The government once again closed down locations that were prone to the spread of covid-19, including cinemas in the country.

The screening schedule for the film MENGEJAR SURGA was also affected. Not wanting to take any risks, the producer of the film, Indra MS, requested a change in the release date.

"What I was worried about happened again, it turns out that the omicron cases were high in mid-February when the film MENGEJAR SURGA was ready to be screened. Of course, I don't want to take any risks, so I have to ask for a reschedule of the release date," said Indra MS.

Now, the good news is back. Production house Viera has released the release date for the movie. This family drama genre and 13+ movie is ready to entertain moviegoers wherever they are on May 26, 2022.

"Alhamdulillah, we have now obtained the release date, on May 26, 2022, and hopefully there will be no more Covid-19 cases in our country. I am very optimistic that this movie, MENGEJAR SURGA, can provide entertainment to the audience. I have seen some Indonesian movies that have been released, and the audience response has been good. Hopefully, it will be even better in the future," said Indra MS.

This movie, starring Al Ghazali, Jessica Mila, Kimberly Ryder, Jeremy Thomas, Delano Daniel, Endhita, Mutia Datau, and Joshua Rubin, takes place in two different locations, the Netherlands and Indonesia.

The choice of locations between the Netherlands and Indonesia certainly has a strong background in this movie. Of course, there is a moral message that Bambang Drias, the director of the movie MENGEJAR SURGA, wants to convey.

"I want to work on this because there are many incidents between two couples from different nationalities. Actually, one of the fathers is of Dutch descent. So, for the moral message, it is not necessary that couples from different nationalities have to divorce, no. The true love found between the two couples does not have to meet, but it remains attached. That is the meaning of true love in this movie," he said.

The movie MENGEJAR SURGA tells the story of a child's struggle to find his long-lost father. The father who left them long before the child was born is still unknown. In order to fulfill his desire to make his father a part of their future wedding, the mother allowed the child to leave.

The search, which led to a spiritual and extraordinary experience for him, resulted in failure. His childhood friend could not do much, even though he tried his best to accompany his friend while in the Netherlands.
