Remake From Successful Thai Film, Vino G Bastian Reveals 'KANG MAK' Horror Comedy Still Respects Its Original Source

Kapanlagi.com - The success of remaking a film from South Korea has led Falcon Pictures production house to try to find intellectual property from other Asian countries. This time, they are remaking a successful horror comedy from Thailand titled PEE MAK.

The Indonesian remake version, directed by Herwin Novianto, is titled KANG MAK. The cast is none other than the married couple Vino G Bastian and Marsha Timothy.

1. Respect the Original Film

Ahead of its release in theaters on August 15, 2024, the film KANG MAK has released its official trailer. In just two minutes, it is able to show the excitement of a horror story blended with comedy, starring renowned actors and actresses from the country.

Upon knowing that the trailer has been released, Vino G Bastian stated that this remake version still respects the original film. Although it is a remake, it still brings the uniqueness that has been familiar to the audience.

"The director, casts, and the whole team try to provide a different touch while still respecting the signature of the original film," said Vino in an interview session some time ago.

2. Introducing New Elements

Although respecting its original source, adjustments to the story and characters with Indonesian culture are still made. It is said to make KANG MAK feel fresh.

"So when it is watched later, there will be new elements that have never been seen in previous films," Vino continued.
