Rumors Circulate that Audience Must Leave Every 30 Minutes to Breathe Fresh Air, Here's What the Cinema Says

Kapanlagi.com - Ahead of the reopening of cinemas in DKI Jakarta, rumors have circulated that moviegoers will have to leave every 30 minutes to breathe fresh air. This means that if a movie lasts approximately 90 minutes, moviegoers will have to leave twice.

However, this rumor was quickly denied by CGV Cinemas, which recently reopened four locations in Jakarta on October 21st. According to the Decree issued by the Provincial Government, there is no such recommendation.

"I have been asked a lot about this. But we enforce the rules according to the Decree we received. The Decree does not state that moviegoers have to leave every 30 minutes to breathe fresh air," said Hariman Chalid, the public relations of CGV Cinemas, during the reopening of CGV Grand Indonesia, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (10/21/2020).

1. Body Temperature Must Not Exceed 37 Degrees Celsius

CGV Cinemas then explained the procedure for watching in accordance with health protocols. First, before entering the cinema area, viewers are required to scan the QR code using an application on their mobile phones. If it is not integrated yet, they can fill in their personal data such as name, arrival time, signature, phone number, or the first six digits of their ID card.

"After that, check your body temperature and use hand sanitizer. If your body temperature is higher than 37 degrees Celsius, you are not allowed to enter," said Hariman Chalid.

2. Not Allowed to Bring Food

After being in the lobby, the cinema does not provide ticket sales because purchases must be made online through the official CGV application and can be printed upon arrival at the location. If you haven't ordered using the application, you can use the touch screen purchasing machine.

Viewers are advised to continue wearing masks while inside the auditorium. And for the time being, watching while eating or drinking is not allowed. "Food and drinks are provided in a designated area for now and cannot be brought into the auditorium," said Hariman Chalid.
