Shooting the film 'HEAVEN UNDER THE SKY' at Bantar Gebang, Actors Immediately Experience Diarrhea Until Fainting

Kapanlagi.com - A musical drama film by Pritagita Arianegara titled HEAVEN UNDER THE SKY underwent shooting process around September last year. One of the chosen locations was Bantar Gebang, which is known as an Integrated Waste Disposal Site (TPST).

Before the shooting, a rehearsal was conducted for the actors and actresses such as Reza Rahadian, Acha Septriasa, and Andien. After returning from there, some experienced vomiting, fainting, and even diarrhea.

"So when we had a tryout before shooting, on the first day, some went home with diarrhea, vomiting until some even fainted because the conditions in Bantar Gebang are like that," said Rio Silaen, the producer, when met in the Kuningan area, South Jakarta, on Saturday evening (14/3/2020).

1. Stronger Children

To overcome the conditions of the players, the schedule located in Bantar Gebang was taken last. During two weeks there, the producer revealed that child actors like Neona, Muzakki Ramdhan, and Keira Vanaya were actually the strongest in facing the smell and everything else.

"Initially, I thought it would be the children, but it turns out they are the stronger ones. They have more scenes, and almost 50 percent of the time they were there for almost two weeks," added Rio.

2. Special Purpose

SURGA DI BAWAH LANGIT (Heaven Under the Sky) was intentionally created by Rio Silaen with a special purpose to show the importance of education for children, especially marginalized communities.

"This film highlights the education of marginalized children. Because some of them feel that education is not important, they just need to survive day by day," he said.
