'SINS OF SHIRK', A Horror Tension That Awakens Awareness Ready to Haunt the Audience

Kapanlagi.com - After the success of the film GHOST ISLAND, MVP Pictures is now preparing to release its latest work titled SINS OF SHIRK. This horror film is scheduled to premiere in theaters on October 31, 2024, and is ready to offer a different experience for horror genre lovers.

Director Hadrah Daeng Ratu explained that SINS OF SHIRK is not just an ordinary horror film featuring scary demons or spirits.

"This film discusses things that are forbidden by religion and hated by God, and relates to the supernatural and invisible beings. Shirk means humans associating with jinn or beings other than God, becoming their servants," said Hadrah.

According to Hadrah, the appeal of this film lies in the shirk behavior itself. "This is what makes me interested in making this film," she added.

The story of the film focuses on Nugie, played by Marthino Lio. Nugie is a young man caught in debt to support his family. When his desperation leads him to a powerful shaman, Mbah Narto, he is forced to face the consequences of the choices he has made.

"This film tells the story of someone who believes that inanimate objects can bring about what he hopes for, such as healing or power. This behavior, in religion, is considered shirk which will lead to sin," explained Hadrah about the essence of this film's story.

2. Acting Alongside My Wife

Marthino Lio explains his reason for being involved in this film. "Because I have the opportunity to act alongside my wife, Delia Husein, and to collaborate with Ms. Hadrah. Every time there’s an offer from Multi, it feels like coming home," said Lio.

The synopsis of SHIRK SIN depicts Nugie who is pressured by debt to the point of despair. He takes his seriously ill mother to a shaman and is tempted by the shaman's wealth. However, what he receives is not money, but a sacred kris that plunges him into the terrifying terror of Ni Larapati.

This dark story not only threatens Nugie but also the people around him who begin to become victims one by one. This film promises tension and deep moral reflection, making it one of the films worth waiting for at the end of this month.
