This is the Concept of the Film Poster 'SORE: WIFE FROM THE FUTURE'

In addition to its soundtrack, the poster SORE: WIFE FROM THE FUTURE has also gone viral. Many have imitated and created memes from the poster. In the poster, the character Jonathan (Dion Wiyoko) stands at the top step with the character Sore (Sheila Dara) following behind him while holding one of Jonathan's wrists.

On the other steps, there are 13 portraits of Sheila Dara showing various emotional expressions, each representing important scenes in the film. Suryana Paramita also shared the concept behind the poster.

"If it's a poster photo, we invited Joss Felix to Finland, to Croatia, and at that time Joss Felix asked, 'what's the brief, Mit?' I said, Joss, there is no brief, just come to Croatia, try to open up your sensitivity to the set, to the scene, capture moments that are significant to the photographer's eye. I believe photographers have a sensitivity to see moments. So I said, according to Joss, from Joss's perspective, observe all the shooting events from the first day to the last day, just try to record and capture it," explained Suryana Paramita in an exclusive interview via Zoom on Tuesday (29/7).

"Then later on, when the collected photo materials are gathered, we will see which ones are potentially suitable to be made into a poster. That's the brief. Now, while we were shooting in Croatia, there were some really beautiful sunset moments, and we were waiting for the set, we were in a moment where the camera crew was setting up lights and so on, while the actors were waiting, Joss said, let's take this photo with the sunset background, then the afternoon scene hugging from behind," he continued.

Suryana revealed that while trying various locations, they created a concept for the poster. "How in the evening I wanted to hug Jonathan from behind, not wanting to let go, while Jonathan looks ahead with a cold gaze. There is a sense of romance, there is a sense of sadness in it, you know. What we believe is, maybe this could be our poster. When we returned to Indonesia, we edited it, and it turned out that Hendra Adi's edits were surprising, having a higher complexity, with more emotional layers. When we looked again at our poster candidates, Yandi and I felt, why isn't it as strong as the film," he explained.

The film is very complex, but the poster is quite simple. Suryana and the team did a long search until they thought of a concept that was representative of the film. In the end, all the poster candidates taken in Croatia were canceled and not used.

"We looked for it again, talked to Evan, our poster designer, talked to Jules. I, Yandi, Jules, and Evan finally decided that we should take the photo again on a staircase, which happened to be at Artotel. That's our official partner, so Artotel was the one, yeah, let's just take the photo. So the collaboration happened quickly, we remade the poster. It was around, I think at the end of February that we made that poster. The idea also came only after the film editing was finished," concluded Suryana, producer of the film SORE.

Suryana revealed that it didn't take long to determine the concept, but there were already posters, but all the ideas changed when the editing was finished.

"We finished editing in February. So, finally, a new poster emerged in response to the results of the film editing, which we prepared the poster photo for about two weeks, three weeks," he added.
