Tora Sudiro Admits to Being Hesitant to Act in the Film 'MANGGA MUDA', Here's the Reason

Kapanlagi.com - Actor Tora Sudiro has just finished his latest film titled MANGGA MUDA. In this film, Tora plays Agil, a taxi driver who has a wife named Luli (Alexandra Gottardo).

Being involved in the film MANGGA MUDA, initially Tora Sudiro was hesitant because he didn't know anyone from the production team or the cast. He was so hesitant that he even tried to find out a lot about this film, from the cast, writer, to the director. But he became interested when he found out that the writer was Jujur Prananto.

"At first, when I was offered the role, I was hesitant because I didn't know anyone. At first, I saw Girry's IG (the director), and I thought he didn't look like a director. But when I found out that Jujur wrote it, I felt safe. When I was offered the role, there were people I knew in the production. At first, I was confused," said Tora Sudiro at XXI Plaza Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Sunday (19/1).

After that, several actor and actress names appeared who were involved in films produced by Lingkar Film. They are Alexandra Gottardo, Gary Iskak, and Nafa Urbach. Seeing those names, Tora finally wanted to accept the offer to star in the film MANGGA MUDA.

"When I found out about Gary Iskak, I only remembered his sins. Only then," said Tora.

2. The Importance of Building Chemistry

Tora also said that acting in a film should be able to build chemistry with the co-star. If familiar with other actors, it will automatically be easier to build chemistry. But it turns out, the filming process for MANGGA MUDA was done shortly after he received the offer.

"If in the past it was nice to shoot for a month, a month and a half, a month was really good for us to get close to the actors so that the chemistry can be obtained. But this time it's not too long and then after that, shooting. I had thought about how to build chemistry when acting with someone I don't know. At least I know Gary, there's Pasha, his nephew, it's nice after that," he said.

3. Meeting Team 86

During the filming of the movie MANGGA MUDA, Tora gained many interesting experiences, one of which was meeting the team 86. Coincidentally, team 86 was also filming to be aired on a private television station.

"We had a scene in front of Gedung Sate until night. When we were going around Bandung and returning to the same spot, team 86 was also filming," said Tora.

Several famous actors and actresses were involved in the movie MANGGA MUDA, such as Tora Sudiro, Alexandra Gottardo, Gary Iskak, Nafa Urbach, Ajun Perwira, Niniek L Karim, and Vikri Rasta. This comedy drama film will be released in theaters starting from January 23, 2020.
