The Totality of Mawar de Jongh as Secretary Kim, Conducting Direct Observations for a Relatable Role

In the film airing from November 8, 2025, on Vidio, Mawar plays a reliable secretary who has served for nine years. To understand the ins and outs of the profession, she admitted to chatting and observing her friends who work as office employees.

"I had the chance to chat and observe friends who work in the office, from the way they speak, dress, to how they behave towards their superiors," explained Mawar de Jongh when met at Plaza Indonesia, Central Jakarta, Thursday (6/11/2025).

1. Building Chemistry with Adipati Dolken

On the other hand, his co-star, Adipati Dolken, admitted that he did not have much difficulty in building chemistry. According to him, their long-established closeness from various previous projects was the main asset.

"We don’t need to build chemistry anymore because we’ve known each other for a long time, we’ve often shot together," said Adipati.

Mawar also agreed with this. She added that the chemistry built among the cast is one of the elements that makes this film feel so warm and endearing.

"I think we’ve all been in that position, where we still have to smile, still have to act like nothing is wrong even though inside we are actually annoyed, actually tired," she said, referring to one of the iconic scenes in the film.

The film WHAT'S UP WITH SECRETARY KIM? in its Indonesian version indeed brings a slightly different atmosphere. Director Rako Prijanto mentions that this film will feel warmer, lighter, and full of comedy.

The story revolves around Kimberly's (Mawar de Jongh) decision to quit her job, which suddenly makes her boss, Rendra (Adipati Dolken), feel a sense of loss. This moment becomes the turning point for Rendra to realize his feelings.
