Vacuum for 6 Years, Fairuz A. Rafiq Admits 'Trembling' Acting Against Raihaanun

"Of course, it’s needed, like a knife that needs to be sharpened again," said Fairuz when met in the Fatmawati area, South Jakarta, on Friday (24/4/2026).

Fairuz's decision to end her hiatus was not without reason. The presence of talented actress Raihaanun as her co-star became a unique magnet that made her feel challenged and excited to deliver her best performance.

This 40-year-old actress admitted that she greatly respects Raihaanun, who is known for her impressive acting skills on the big screen. She is determined to match her co-star's performance through thorough preparation during the pre-production process.

"I know that Raihaanun's performance in the film is already very strong. That’s also one of the reasons I have to perform at my best," she stated confidently.

In order to delve into her role, Fairuz conducted intensive observation because the character she plays is very much the opposite of her daily life. She also learned many new vocabulary words so that the dialogues she delivers feel more natural and convincing.

For her, this project is a significant leap after a long time focusing on managing the household and children. The collaboration with director Anggy Umbara is also enjoyable and provides a lot of new knowledge in the world of acting.

This film produced by VMS Studio is expected to mark the resurgence of Fairuz's career on the big screen. The audience will be invited to see another side of the actress who started her career at a young age through a storyline filled with emotions.

The story focuses on Intan (Raihaanun) who must adapt to living with her husband Damar's (Omar Daniel) family amid a difficult economic situation. Instead of finding happiness, Intan is often treated like a maid, rather than a daughter-in-law. 

The conflict escalates when the mother-in-law (Meriam Bellina) frequently interferes and acts disruptively, becoming a 'pest' in their household. Damar finds himself in a difficult position: to support his wife or to succumb to his family's demands.

The film KELUARGA SUAMI ADALAH HAMA is scheduled to be released simultaneously in cinemas across Indonesia on May 21, 2026.
