Luna is cast as a mysterious concubine. Meanwhile, Maxime plays one of the gang of robbers who carry out their actions at the concubine's house.
Luna Maya denies being involved in a film production with Maxime Bouttier due to their dating status. Because in the film GUNDIK, Maxime's love interest is actually actress Ratu Sofya.
"Not because we're in a relationship in the real world, in actual life, we are paired together. It's not like that," said Luna at a press conference in the Setiabudi area, South Jakarta, Thursday (18/7/2024).
Generationally, there is also a significant gap, so it would be more fitting for him to be the husband of the character played by Ratu Sofya. So there’s no impression of coercion to pair them up," she added.
Furthermore, Luna Maya and Maxime Bouttier explained that GUNDIK is not the first title that places them in the same film.
"Our jobs are the same, so to be in one project, which has happened before, is very likely. I wouldn't be surprised by one film," Luna expressed.
Luna admitted that she was more surprised by her role in the film GUNDIK, which is based on an urban legend.
"I was more surprised to finally play a character that I've never played before. This character is quite unique, different from what I've played before. My character's humanity is no longer there, it has disappeared," Luna emphasized.
