The First Omen will follow a young American woman portrayed by Nell Tiger Free who travels to Rome to dedicate her life to the church as a nun. However, upon arrival, she begins to uncover a dark conspiracy planning to bring forth the birth of the antichrist.

The film will feature actors such as Bill Nighy, who has been chosen to portray Lawrence, Nell Tiger Free from Game of Thrones will also play the lead role. Ralph Ineson from The Witch will join in The First Omen as Father Brennan.

The only direct connection to the original film so far is the addition of characters like Father Brennan and Father Spiletto. Both characters play important roles in the original film, including the gruesome death of Father Brennan.

Although The Omen has had several sequels and remakes, those films do not explain Damien's background. While it has not been announced whether Damien will appear in this film, it is likely that Damien will only make a cameo.
