Complete Recap of the New MONEY HEIST Season 3 Journey

Although fans felt that the end of season 2 was perfect, there are still problems that occur after the robbery at the Spanish money printing building. Taking place 2 years after the previous events, season 3 of MONEY HEIST starts with Rio's mistake of using a phone.

 

1. Already Living Happily

The third season of this action-packed robbery series starts with scenes of the members of the money printing building robbery who are already living happily. Rio and Tokyo live together on the Guna Yala island, Helsinki and Nairobi live together in La Pampa, Argentina, Denver and Monica or Stockholm live together on the Java island, Indonesia, and The Professor and Raquel or Lisbon now live in the Philippines.

 

2. Beginning of Chaos

This time, MONEY HEIST begins with the recklessness of Rio and Tokyo. Tokyo, who is bored, decides to leave the island for an adventure. Before leaving, Rio decided to give the satellite phone he bought with Helsinki to relieve his longing.

However, unfortunately, the phone was successfully tapped by Interpol and their locations were traced. Interpol managed to capture Rio on Guna Yala Island, but Tokyo managed to escape.

 

3. Calling The Professor

In this third season, it shows what happened after the previous heist. The Professor required his members to live in pairs and also provided important contacts that could be reached when they needed help.

Tokyo finally called one of those important contacts, which led her to Thailand, where The Professor now lives after leaving the Philippines. The Professor then called the other members to come and listen to the situation Tokyo was facing. Knowing this, The Professor decided to cause a new chaos to free Rio.

 

4. Training Again

Before the heist, just like before, The Professor trained his members on things they needed to know about their target. Lisbon and Nairobi Shot

The frustrated police were deceived by a raccoon, who had a new way to destroy the robbers. Alicia discovered the fact that Nairobi had a child. She eventually brought the child to the front of the Spanish Bank building. Nairobi, shocked by the presence of her child, was immediately shot by a sniper.

Elsewhere, Lisbon, who was trapped, has now been located by the police. The police who arrived at the location immediately questioned Lisbon about the whereabouts of The Professor. Lisbon, loyal as ever, did not say a word. This eventually led the police to shoot Lisbon. The Professor, connected to Lisbon, heard the sound of the gunshot and immediately became weak.

Hearing the sound of the gunshot, The Professor assumed that Lisbon had died. After that, he also heard that Nairobi was in critical condition. The guilty and angry Professor immediately declared war on the police. The police, who arrived with bulletproof vehicles, were immediately greeted by Tokyo with a cannon, indicating that the war had begun.

On the other side, Lisbon was not actually dead. Alicia intentionally instructed her subordinates to pretend to fire shots near Lisbon to distract The Professor from his plan. The confused Professor ended season 3 of MONEY HEIST.

5. Invading Madrid

The Professor finally decided to rob the Spanish Bank to create chaos. He used an unusual method to attract Interpol's attention.

The plan to free Rio began by spreading money through air balloons in the city of Madrid. When the money fell from the air, The Professor declared war against Interpol, who had illegally detained Rio, through a video. Riots occurred throughout the city of Madrid. Knowing this, Colonel Pierto, the Head of Spanish Intelligence, deployed military forces to the city of Madrid.

 

6. Disguising Again

Tokyo and other members disguised themselves as military forces to enter the Spanish Bank. In addition, The Professor is now assisted by Lisbon and a hacker from Pakistan to obtain information about the military forces.

Upon arriving at the Bank of Spain, they were confronted by the bank security.Palermo explained that their arrival was to maintain the security of the Bank of Spain and prevent any disturbances.With the help of The Professor disguised as Colonel Castro, Palermo and the other members managed to enter the Bank of Spain.Once inside, they detonated the right and left sides of the building, trapping the hostages in the middle of the building.The explosion also activated the building's security protocols, and their robbery began.

 

7. Failed to Take the Governor of the Bank of Spain Hostage

Shortly after the security protocols were activated, Tokyo and Nairobi headed to the office of the Governor of the Bank of Spain to take him hostage.There, they were confronted by numerous personal security personnel led by Gandia, a former soldier.

After successfully bringing the governor out of his office, Tokyo and Nairobi took him to the location of the hostage situation using the elevator. Suddenly the governor managed to escape from both.

 

8.Governor Successfully Captured

After escaping, the governor's security personnel, along with Gandia, engaged in a shootout with Tokyo, Nairobi, and Palermo.Palermo suffered an eye injury because Gandia shot the glass near him.Despite being outnumbered, Tokyo, Nairobi, and Palermo managed to defeat Gandia and his henchmen, and successfully took the governor hostage.

Nairobi also managed to take a special access card to the vault of the Spanish Bank.They then selected 4 hostages to be used as volunteers for their operation.

 

9.Colonel Pierto Replaced, Robbers Find Gold

Feeling unsuccessful in stopping the chaos in Madrid, Colonel Pierto has now been replaced by Colonel Luis Tamayo.Tamayo then brought in Alissia Sierra at Pierto's request. Alissia Sierra is one of the people who successfully captured Rio.

On the other hand, Nairobi and the others managed to find the location of the storage of the Spanish Bank's treasures.Armed with the information they obtained during previous training, they immediately put on diving suits.When the vault door was touched by the welding equipment, the security protocol immediately activated and released water to drown everything.They were aware of this and managed to enter the Spanish Bank's vault containing gold.

 

10.Other Vaults

After successfully breaking into the vault containing gold, these skilled robbers found another vault with a numerical code.They then instructed the governor of the Spanish Bank to open it.However, the governor refused. Denver, who was angry with the governor's attitude, hit his head against the governor, causing the old governor to faint.

With no other hope, they finally chose to blow up the safe door, risking the loss of some of the assets inside the safe.

 

11. The Return of Arturo

The Director of the Money Printing Agency, Arturo, was invited by the police as an informant. There, he explained the characteristics of each member of this robbery. He explained the details one by one, starting from Tokyo who is impatient, Denver who gets angry quickly, and others.

At the same time, the police were already around the building and ready to storm in with various equipment. Suddenly, Denver came out carrying a white flag and 2 red suitcases containing state secrets. Knowing this, Colonel Tamayo ordered his troops to retreat.

 

12. The First Negotiation

Alicia, who had just arrived, immediately started negotiating with The Professor and Lisbon. During the negotiation, Alicia threatened to imprison her mother in a country in Southeast Asia and her child would be put in an orphanage in Jakarta. Hearing that, Lisbon panicked and clashed with The Professor.

Once calm, The Professor explained to Lisbon that he is the weak point of this group. The Professor said that Lisbon will continue to be pressured like that because she knows Lisbon's true identity.

 

13. Preparing for War

Thanks to the hacker who works with The Professor, the robbers in the Spanish Bank are now preparing for an attack by the police. However, they don't know where the police will attack, so Tokyo and Palermo warned the others to stay alert.

The police arrived by spraying sleeping gas. After the sleeping gas was felt to have spread throughout the building, 5 police officers with breathing aids descended from the roof and searched for the robbers. As a result, a shootout occurred between them. Outnumbered, the police tried to find strategic places for themselves, but eventually fell into the robbers' trap.

 

14. Second Negotiation

After successfully capturing 5 special police officers earlier, The Professor is now negotiating with Alicia for an exchange, the 5 special police officers he captured with Rio. The exchange is accepted by Alicia. Rio now joins Tokyo and the other members.

The Professor, realizing that there is something suspicious about this exchange, asks his members to act normal. Eventually, it is discovered that a listening device is implanted in Rio's body. Nairobi, with the help of other members, manages to remove the listening device from Rio's body.

Just as the door is about to close, Arturo, who is in a police tent near the Spanish Bank building, runs and manages to enter the Spanish Bank building.

 

15. The Professor and Lisbon Separated

The whereabouts of The Professor and Lisbon are successfully traced by the police. The police, using a tracking drone, continue to follow The Professor into the forest. The Professor signals that he and Lisbon should separate to confuse the drone. The Professor instructs Lisbon to get out of the car and climb a tree to avoid detection by the drone.

However, when Lisbon gets out of the car, she fails to climb the tree and hides in a shack. The owner of the shack appears and a standoff occurs. The owner threatens to call the police if Lisbon doesn't leave.

 

16. Fake Escape Plan

The listening device that was in Rio's body is now attached to a mongoose. The mongoose is placed in a fake tunnel to confuse the police. This gives the robbers time to melt down the gold they found.
