Highlighting a world where humans can turn into monsters that represent their deepest desires, the characters in this series struggle to survive while maintaining their humanity. Director Lee Eung-bok explained that he chose to direct Sweet Home because of the irony where the world goes crazy when a man wants to end his life, and the safety of life depends on a human who turns into a monster.

"Being involved in a new genre allows me to try new ways of expression," he said.

Actor Song Kang plays a loner teenager named Cha Hyun-soo. "He is an emotional character with a drastically fluctuating life, so I tried to find ways to capture his emotions," he said.

Meanwhile, Lee Jin-uk portrays a mysterious man named Pyeon Sang-wook who often makes other residents feel uncomfortable with his rough attitude. "Director Lee wanted me to feel completely different from previous roles since the first scene. Therefore, I tried my best to give a very different appearance transformation so that people wouldn't realize it was me."

The female hero, Seo Yi-kyung, also successfully captures attention in Sweet Home. In order to portray the former special forces soldier, Yi-kyung, actress Lee Si-young started training for action scenes six months before filming began. "I also had to do a lot of weight training to shape my muscles."

Lee Do-hyun also had to undergo a transformation in his role as Lee Eun-hyuk, a smart but cold-hearted medical student. "He is a hard worker who loves his younger sister very much.
