Doctor Strange Will Join the Film 'SPIDER-MAN 3'

Kapanlagi.com - The renowned English actor, Benedict Cumberbatch, is reported to be reprising his role as Doctor Strange in the film SPIDER-MAN 3. Marvel Studios will once again collaborate with Sony Pictures for this film project.

According to various sources, Doctor Strange will serve as the mentor for Spider-Man. Previously, this role was portrayed by Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) in the film SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING. Meanwhile, in the film SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME, the responsibility fell on Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson).

The presence of this mentor character brings surprise and uniqueness to the SPIDER-MAN films featuring Tom Holland. Furthermore, it is widely rumored that Jamie Foxx will reprise his role as Electro. Electro's character was previously introduced in the Andrew Garfield version of Spider-Man. The inclusion of Doctor Strange in this film may explain Electro's return.

If previously Nick Fury taught Peter Parker to become a secret agent and Tony Stark taught him about the responsibilities of being a superhero, this time Doctor Strange will lead Peter to travel between universes. These steps are taken by the MCU as an effort to deliver the best films to their fans.

Among the four SPIDER-MAN series, two of them have the highest revenue. SPIDER-MAN 3 managed to earn more than Rp12.7 trillion, mainly due to the fact that Spider-Man 3 is one of the most expensive films ever produced. And next is SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME successfully occupied the first rank in the SPIDER-MAN film with a profit of Rp15.8 trillion. The achievement is supported by a 90% rating from Rotten Romatoes and grade A from CinemaScore. Spider-Man: FAR FOR HOME won 3 awards from the Teen Choice Awards held on August 11, 2019. 

SPIDER-MAN 3 will start shooting in Atlanta in October, while MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS is also expected to start shooting as soon as possible, although in a different place. Jon Wats, the director of HOMECOMING and SPIDER-MAN: FAR FOR HOME, has become the director for the third time in this sequel.

It is expected that supporting cast members from previous films such as Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Tony Revolori, and Jacob Batalon can return to star in SPIDER-MAN 3. Cumberbatch and Holland themselves first met as Doctor Strange and Spider-Man in AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR. This film is scheduled to be released on December 17, 2021. However, due to the pandemic, the schedule may change.
