Fans PERCY JACKSON Have to Wait Longer for New Film

As reported by Screen Rant, the author Rick Riordan himself informed fans that the series will not be airing anytime soon. Excited fans were disappointed, and 'forced' Riordan to give them an estimate of the production time for the series. Twitter account @rickriordan was flooded with mentions on July 6th, and Riordan spoke up.

"My wife Becky and I are still in the early stages of writing the script, which can take months," Riordan said on his Twitter account. "The closest estimate is probably around two years," he continued.

Riordan then added that making a TV series is more complicated than writing a novel, especially during a pandemic like the current one. Expecting the series to air in 2022 may seem unlikely, but at least the fans feel slightly comforted by his response.

The story of PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS by Rick Riordan has been a favorite of many teenagers since its first release in 2005. It's no wonder, as each book is packed with exciting adventures of Percy as a half-god human fighting evil monsters, and the story is always accompanied by funny jokes. Learning Greek mythology becomes light and enjoyable when following this series.

The series, which has sold over sixty-nine million copies, has also been adapted into two films: PERCY JACKSON & THE OLYMPIANS: THE LIGHTNING THIEF and PERCY JACKSON: SEA OF MONSTERS. However, both received less favorable responses from Riordan and readers who claim that the book series is much more exciting.

So, don't be sad just yet. Those who were disappointed with the film adaptations can hope for a lot from this new series on Disney Plus because it is being directly developed by the Riordan couple. Let's wait for further updates.
